It all began when Jan-Leonard Moortgat and his wife founded the Moortgat brewery farm in 1871.  Jan-Leonard experimented by trial and error, and his top fermented beers were soon greatly appreciated in the brewerys' home town of Puurs and far beyond. Duvel is the flagship of the brewery, the result of decades of brewing with passion and an eye for quality. This exceptional speciality beer has a subtle bitterness, a refined aroma and a pronounced taste of hops.
